Our Lady of Mount Carmel   –   Feast Day July 16th

All Carmelites celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 16th July. We honour Mary as Queen and Beauty of Carmel. The first hermits on Mount Carmel built an oratory and dedicated it to Mary. These hermits called themselves the ‘Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary’. This gave rise to the beautiful expression within the Order:’ Carmel belongs totally to Mary.'(Totus Marianus est Carmelus)
