CHILD PROTECTION SAFEGUARDING
POLICY STATEMENT

 

The Carmelite Sisters embrace Gospel values respecting the dignity of every human person as a child of God.
We undertake to cherish, respect and safeguard all children from harm whether physical, sexual or emotional.

“Let the children come to me; do not stop them.” (Mt. 19:14) Inspired by Jesus’ great love, we endeavor to do all in our power to safeguard the welfare of children with whom we come in contact.
Each child is a gift from God and has an inherent right to dignity of life and bodily integrity which should be respected, nurtured and protected by all.

As an enclosed contemplative Community we recognize that the welfare of young people is of paramount importance. Our policy is devised to ensure that our sisters and staff take every possible measure to follow the policy.

All allegations of child abuse shared with any member of the community shall be reported to the relevant Statutory Authorities by the Designated Liaison Person.
